What the site does with your answers
Right now the plan is built in your browser. The race, mileage, heart rate and schedule answers you type are used to make your plan on your device and are not sent to our servers. Only the short summary described under "Plans, emails and forms" below is recorded. We save your answers in your browser's local storage so the form is filled in next time; you can clear them with the "Clear form" button or by clearing site data.
Health-related information
Your mileage, race times, heart rate and injury answers can reveal health-related information. We only use them to build your plan. We will not sell them.
When payments and accounts are added
If we add paid plans, payment details are handled by our payment processor (for example Stripe) and we do not store full card numbers. We may keep your email, order record and the plan you purchased so you can access it again. We will update this page before we start collecting anything beyond what is described above.
The newsletter
The newsletter is run on beehiiv. The signup form on our home page is loaded from beehiiv. Just by opening the home page, your browser contacts beehiiv, which receives your IP address and browser details and sets its own cookies (to remember where you came from and whether you have already subscribed). When you subscribe, beehiiv stores your email address under its own privacy policy. The link to the newsletter page also leaves this site. This site does not receive your email address from beehiiv.
Plans, emails and forms
When you build a training plan, the plan itself is created in your browser. Your race times, mileage and other answers are not sent to us. What we do record is a short summary that a plan was built: the date and time, the race distance, length in weeks, a rough level, weekly mileage, whether the goal was realistic, whether you started from one of our example runners, and whether you were on a phone. This record is not tied to you unless you also give us your email address. We also keep simple anonymous counts of button use (for example "plan started", "chart printed"), with no cookies and no IP address stored.
The plan page asks for your email (it is required to build a plan). If you type your email there, on a waitlist form, or on a "submit your race or club" form, we store it together with what you submitted (for example the race or club name, link, date, your role and any note). We use it to add you to the weekly newsletter (we add newsletter emails to beehiiv ourselves, and beehiiv then asks you to confirm), to tell you when new tools open, or to follow up on your listing. We do not sell or share your email with anyone else.
How long we keep it: plan summaries and counts are kept to improve the plans; emails we collected for the newsletter are removed from our own records once added to beehiiv; waitlist emails are deleted 12 months after launch or when you ask; submissions are kept while the listing exists. To see or delete what we hold about you, email [email protected] and we will delete it from our records and, if you subscribed, from beehiiv. Our database backups can keep deleted rows for up to 30 days. The database is hosted by Cloudflare.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies of its own and shows no advertising, apart from the beehiiv cookies described above. Our host, Cloudflare, keeps basic server logs, and email sent to [email protected] passes through Cloudflare Email Routing. Links to RunSignUp, Instagram and other sites leave this site and follow their own policies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and visits. It does not use cookies or track you across sites. We do not use Google Analytics or advertising trackers. When you submit an email on a form, Cloudflare Turnstile runs a quick check that you are a person and not a script; it may set a short-lived token and receives your IP address and browser details for that check.
